HEALTH SCIENCES ONLINE (HSO) PRIVACY POLICY

The Ulrich and Ruth Frank Foundation for International
Health (together with all its subsidiaries and affiliates who operate
the Sites (as defined below) to be collectively referred to as
"us," "we," or "HSO") provides its website www.hso.info
as well as other related services and websites such as www.globaluni.info
(together referred to as the ÒSitesÓ).
HSO is committed to protecting your privacy and to handling your Personally
Identifiable Information (as defined below) with care and respect. This Privacy Policy, which is part of
and incorporated into the Health Sciences Online Terms and Conditions of Use
(ÒTerms of UseÓ), describes how we collect, use, share and protect your
personally identifiable information on the Sites. Your use of any of the Sites indicates that you accept this
Privacy Policy. By accepting this
Privacy Policy, you expressly consent to our collection, storage, use and
disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information as described below. All capitalized terms that are not defined herein shall have the meanings
ascribed to them in the Terms of Use.
We reserve the right to change this
Privacy Policy at any time. Such
changes, modifications, additions, or deletions shall be effective immediately
upon notice thereof, by email to the email address listed for registered users or
by posting the revised Privacy Policy on this page. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to
maintain a valid email address as a registered user (if you wish to actively
receive updates), and to review the Sites and this Privacy Policy periodically,
and to be aware of any modifications.
Your continued use of any of the Sites after such modifications will
constitute your: (a) acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy; and (b)
agreement to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

Information Collection & Use
a.
Personally
and Non-Personally Identifiable Information
The
Sites collect both Personally Identifiable Information and Non-Personally
Identifiable Information from its visitors. ÒPersonally Identifiable InformationÓ is information that
can personally identify you, such as your full name, phone number, email
address and your postal address. ÒNon-Personally
Identifiable InformationÓ is information that may be personal to you, such as
your demographic information or favorite web page, but which cannot be used to
identify you.
b.
Technology
We collect
certain information through technology.
We use cookies to record past activity at the Sites in order to provide
better service when visitors return to our Sites. ÒCookiesÓ are pieces of information that a site sends and
stores on your computer while you are viewing the site. Cookies provide information to the Sites
so that the Sites will remember who you are. Most web browsers automatically accept Cookies, but you can
usually configure your browser to not do so. Not accepting Cookies may make certain features of the Sites
unavailable to you.
We
also may employ a software technology that help us better manage content on the
Sites by informing us what content is effective (ÒWeb BeaconsÓ). We may tie the information gathered through
such technology to our usersÕ Personally Identifiable Information.
As is true of
most sites, we automatically gather certain information (such as internet
protocol (ÒIPÓ) addresses, browser type, longitude and latitude, internet
service provider (ÒISPÓ), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time
stamp, and clickstream data) and store it in log files. We use this information, which does not
identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the Sites, to track
usersÕ movements around the Sites and to gather demographic information about
our user base as a whole. We may
also link this data to Personally Identifiable Information.
c.
Information
Collected
For each
visitor to the Sites, our Web server automatically recognizes the visitorÕs
domain name and email address (where possible). We may also collect the domain names and any email addresses
of visitors to the Sites, aggregate information regarding the web pages visitorsÕ
access or visit, and user-specific information regarding the web pages visitors
access or visit.
We may
also collect the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email,
and any other information volunteered by a visitor, for example, in site
registrations, surveys or other requests for online feedback, which would
include information such as name and address, telephone number, and fax
number.
WE DO NOT ASK FOR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS and urge you to ignore any emails, telephone calls,
written solicitations and all other forms of communication that any
unscrupulous person(s) may use to falsely represent the name of HSO when asking you for your social
security number.
d.
Use of Information
The
information we collect is generally used to improve the content of the Sites,
provide technical support or account maintenance, customize the content and/or
layout of our pages for each individual visitor, notify visitors about updates
to the Sites, and to contact visitors for marketing purposes.
We may, from time to time, send
you emails regarding our services.
In addition we may
occasionally send you direct mail about products and services that we feel may
be of interest to you. Only HSO
(or agents working on behalf of HSO and under confidentiality agreements) will
send you these direct mailings and only if you did not opt-out of these offers.
If you no longer wish to receive our promotional or informational
communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions
included in each communication or by emailing us at info@hso.info or write to

Newtown, PA 18940. Additionally, at any time, you can edit
your account information to no longer receive such offers and mailings.

Disclosure of Information.
We may disclose
your Personally Identifiable Information to our third party service providers,
including companies we retain as consultants to conduct research on our behalf.
We will encourage our service partners to adopt and post privacy
policies. The use of your Personally Identifiable Information (such as data
required for a login access to some sites) by our service partners is governed
by the privacy policies of those service partners and is not subject to our
control. We do not share your Personally Identifiable Information with any third
parties for marketing purposes or partner with or have special relationships
with any third party ad-server companies; however, we reserve the right to use
or disclose Non-Personally Identifiable Information in any manner.
We may
disclose Personally Identifiable Information to third parties without your
consent in the following circumstances:
i.
if we believe
there is a serious and imminent threat to the life, health or safety of
yourself or another person (for example, if we learn that a person is suffering
abuse or has made statements of an intent to commit self-harm or harm another);
ii.
to investigate
or report on activity which we believe on reasonable grounds to be unlawful;
iii.
if disclosure is
required or authorized by law (for example, in response to a subpoena or where
a regulatory authority has the power to request the provision of certain
records or information);
iv.
if disclosure is
reasonably necessary to enable an enforcement body to perform its functions,
for example:
a) the prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution
or punishment of criminal offenses; and
b) the preparation for, or conduct of, proceedings
before any court or tribunal, or implementation of the orders of a court or
tribunal.
v.
If we deem such
disclosure necessary, in our sole discretion, to protect our legal and
legitimate business interests.
You
acknowledge that our right to disclose Personally Identifiable Information under
this Privacy Policy may involve disclosure to entities located outside the United
States. Where we may be required
or authorized to disclose your Personally Identifiable Information, you consent
to the disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information to foreign
entities.
We may provide aggregate
information regarding the web pages visitors to third parties. For example, we might inform third parties regarding
the number of users of the Sites and the activities they conduct while on the Sites.
We might also inform a pharmaceutical company (that may or may not be an
advertiser on the Sites) that "30% of our users live east of the
Mississippi" or that "25% of our users have tried alternative
medicine." Depending on the circumstances, we may or may not charge third
parties for this aggregate information. We require parties with whom we share aggregate
information to agree that they will not attempt to make this information
personally identifiable, such as by combining it with other databases.
In the event we are acquired by or merged with another organization, all information, including Personally Identifiable Information collected by the Sites, may be shared or transferred to the new organization. We will notify you of such transfer by posting notice on the Sites if the intended use of the Personally Identifiable Information will be contrary to this policy; in the event we fail to notify you, your Personally Identifiable Information will be transferred subject to this policy.

Updating and Correcting Information
If your Personally
Identifiable Information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you
may correct, update, or delete such information by making the change on the
account information portion of the Sites or by emailing our Customer Support at
info@hso.info or by postal mail at HSO, c/o

18940. You may change any of your
Personally Identifiable Information in your account online at any time by
linking to your account in accordance with instructions posted elsewhere on the
Sites. You may also access and correct Personally Identifiable Information and
privacy preferences by emailing us at: info@hso.info, or

us.
You may
ask to have the information on your account deleted or removed; however,
because we keep track of past transactions, you cannot delete information
associated with past transactions on the Sites. In addition, it may be impossible for us to completely
delete your information without retaining some residual information because of
backups.

Personally
Identifiable Information in Public Areas
You
should also be aware that when Personally Identifiable Information is
voluntarily disclosed (i.e. your name, email address, etc.) in the discussion
forums or other public areas on the Sites, that information, along with any
information disclosed in your communication, can be collected and used by third
parties and may result in unsolicited messages from third parties. Such activities are beyond our control
and this Privacy Policy does not apply to such information. Any Submissions to chat rooms or other
public areas on the Sites are accepted with the understanding that they are
accessible to all third parties.
If you do not want your comments to be viewed by third parties, you are
advised not to make any Submissions.
Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of
your password and/or account information.
Please be careful and responsible with this information.
4.
Security
We will attempt to implement security measures in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at the Sites. While we use reasonable efforts to safeguard the security of your personal information, any transmissions made on or through the Internet are vulnerable to attack and cannot be guaranteed to be secure. In addition, submissions made via email are not protected by SSL technology and are vulnerable to interception during transmission.
No data transmission over the
Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot guarantee that your data will
be completely safe or secure because no data transmission or electronic storage
of data over the Internet, or by any other means, is guaranteed to be 100%
secure, even if you follow all the recommended steps for security. Therefore,
while we strive to protect your Personally Identifiable Information, you
acknowledge that: (a) there are security and privacy limitations on the Internet
which are beyond our control; (b) the security, integrity, and privacy of any
and all information and data exchanged between you and us through the Sites
cannot be guaranteed; and (c) any such information and data may be viewed or
tampered with in transit by a third party. HSO urges you to take steps to keep your personal
information safe by memorizing your password or keeping it in a safe place, and
logging out of your online user account and closing your web browser after you
are finished using the Sites.
5.
Third Party Sites
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected by
HSO through the Sites. The Sites may
contain links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by HSO (ÒThird Party SitesÓ). Links to
Third Party Sites may be found in advertisements, referenced within content, or
placed beside the names or logos of sponsors. Sponsors or advertisers on HSO may use their own Cookies, Web
Beacons or other online tracking technologies in the banner advertisements
served on HSO and in emails, special promotions or newsletters we send you.
Please be aware
that we, HSO, are not
responsible for the privacy practices of such Third Party Sites. This Privacy
Policy does not apply to Third Party Sites,
whether or not the Sites provide a link to such Third Party Sites. Therefore, we encourage you to read the
privacy statements of other sites when you leave the Sites. Alternatively, there may be
unauthorized third party websites that may link to our Sites without our
knowledge or control. HSO (a) is
not responsible for the content of any Third
Party Sites, (b) expressly disclaims any statements or assertions made
on any Third Party Sites, and
(c) denies all liability associated with your use of, and the content on, any Third Party Sites.
6.
Children
Under Age 13
The Sites are intended for users who are eighteen (18) years
of age or older (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction of
residence, if higher than 18), or users who otherwise posses legal parental or
guardian consent to use the Sites.
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone
under the age of thirteen (13) or knowingly allow such persons to register or
use the Sites. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to use or register on
the Sites or send any Personally Identifiable Information about yourself to us,
including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under
age 13 may provide any Personally Identifiable Information to HSO or on the Sites.
In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a
child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete
that information. If you believe that we might have any information from or
about a child under 13, please contact us.
